CHICAGO — Mark Dantonio gave Brian Lewerke the nod again as Michigan State’s No. 1 quarterback.
But he also said the senior third-year starter enters preseason camp with competition from redshirt sophomore backup Rocky Lombardi.
“He certainly is back and healthy,” Dantonio said of Lewerke on Thursday at Big Ten media day “He's bigger and stronger, he's faster, and he comes into his senior year with a tremendous amount of game experience.
