Michigan State football’s linebacker room continues to get good news.
Aaron Brule on Tuesday announced he plans to return to the Spartans for his sixth season of eligibility. That comes three days after Jacoby Windmon announced his return for a fifth season Saturday.
Brule transferred to MSU from Mississippi State last winter, arriving with fellow New Orleans native Windmon, who transferred from UNLV. After a slow start to the season, Brule emerged after Windmon and seven others were suspended for their roles in an altercation at Michigan on Oct. 29.
Over MSU’s final four games, the 6-foot-2, 242-pound Brule posted 18 of his 30 tackles and registered three of his four sacks as defensive coordinator Scottie Hazelton — also in his first season coaching the linebackers — began using a variety of different packages.
