With time winding down on Michigan State football’s hopes of a national title, a miracle happened. Despite outplaying Michigan in most aspects of the game — time of possession, total yards, passing yards, turnovers — the Spartans were left hoping for the unthinkable to happen, and it did.
Going into the game as the No. 7 team in the country and playing the No. 12 team on the road, a win would have presumably given the Spartans a jump in the rankings, right?
Well, when the final play unfolded and Michigan State scooped up a loose ball from Michigan punter Blake O’Neill, the clock wound down and Jalen Watts-Jackson saved the Spartans’ season with an incredible touchdown with no time left.
