Michigan State football introduces new all-black uniforms

You’ve heard, “Go Green!” and “Go White!” But what about … “Go Shadow!”

Michigan State football introduced a black alternate uniform, nicknamed “Shadow,” via social media on Friday night as part of the Spartan Dawg Con festivities in East Lansing. The 100-second video released by the university showed a montage of classic Spartans uniforms, followed by closeups of a new all-black kit from Nike.

The uniform includes a black jersey with white numbers and lettering featuring a dark green outline. The jersey’s collar and shouders has a green “Greek Key”-patterned trim based on the Spartans’ pattern most notably used on the 2000 national-champion basketball team’s kit.
