Michigan State football announced Monday that Mark Diethorn has been hired as the new executive director of player personnel and recruiting.
Diethorn, 37, has worked in recruiting and player personnel for three previous schools, including spending the last four seasons as the director for Virginia Tech. His role there included managing daily recruiting, campus visits, prospect evaluations, summer camp and prospect admissions.
“Mark has a vision and a passion for recruiting and understands what it takes to be successful at this level,” MSU head coach Mel Tucker said. “He has also shown the ability to identify talent in the transfer portal.
