We heard it all week long, Michigan was going to embarrass Michigan State football on their own turf. However, the Spartans came to play against the 7-0 Wolverines who were ranked No. 2 in the country, making it much closer than expected.
People were projected a 30-40 point blowout, but Michigan State played its heart out and nearly came away with an upset. No, it wasn’t close all game long, but the Spartans left a ton of points on the field, and that’s on the coaching staff.
In fact, the Wolverines had the best defense in the country coming in and the Spartans still rushed for 200-plus yards and had over 200 yards through the air.
