Mark Dantonio reacts to his program-record 110th win at Michigan State, impressed with his team in blowout win at Northwestern, Sept. 21, 2019.
EVANSTON, Ill. — It was fitting that Michigan State football’s defense provided Mark Dantonio with bookend moments in a storybook Saturday afternoon.
First, a momentum-changing goal-line stand against Northwestern early in the game. Then, after he reinserted his starters with a milestone victory all but complete, game day captain Mike Panasiuk delivered his second fourth-down stop against his hometown foe.
Panasiuk and his fellow seniors finally beat Northwestern, cruising to a 31-10 win.
