EAST LANSING — Mel Tucker beamed all offseason over the prospect of Michigan State football entering this season with “the most talent that we've had top to bottom on our roster” since he arrived in 2020.
Then camp began. And the message started to shift.
“We can't have 30 or 40 good players and the rest of these guys can't play. We don't really even coach like that,” Tucker said midway through camp. “So I don't even want the men over here and the boys over here, because that's how we get beat.
