Michigan State football DE Jacub Panasiuk opts out of '20 season as team resumes workouts

Hours after the Big Ten revealed its revamped schedule, Michigan State football became the latest program to have a player opt out of the 2020 season.

Jacub Panasiuk, the Spartans’ expected starting defensive end, announced via Twitter that he plans to take a redshirt for his fourth season due to concerns over the coronavirus pandemic.

“After careful consideration and discussion with my family and coaches, I have decided to redshirt this upcoming season,” Panasiuk wrote. “I have decided to redshirt this upcoming season. It is my intention to (come back) and finish my senior year at Michigan State University.
