Michigan State Football: Competition fuels QB Brian Lewerke

Tyler O’Connor has already established himself as the opening day starter for Michigan State Football, however, another competition has taken form with the backup role up for grabs.

Damion Terry now is in a battle for playing time with redshirt freshman Brian Lewerke. It was almost assumed that the back up role would go to Terry, however, Lewerke is making a strong case.

Lewerke started at quarterback for two years at Pinnacle High School in Arizona. During his junior year, he was made team captain before playing a snap on the varsity team.
