The thinning out at defensive end had to have been concerning for Michigan State football coach Mark Dantonio this offseason, but he made a major move. Former four-star linebacker Brandon Randle was considered one of the top players in the Spartans’ 2016 class, but he was moved to defensive end.

It may not seem like a big move, but going from linebacker to an edge-rushing end is going to benefit both Randle and the Spartans, it seems.
The end position was lacking depth and Randle is a young guy who could come in and play right away, maybe even win the starting job.
