Michigan State football begins to turn the page to the future; younger players impress

EAST LANSING — On a day where questions about the future of the program grew louder, Michigan State football’s young players provided a bright spot in the Spartans’ 37-34 loss to Illinois on Saturday.

True freshmen offensive linemen Nick Samac and J.D. Duplain made their first career starts at center and left guard, respectively, because of injuries to a slew of offensive linemen, most recently Matt Allen and Luke Campbell.
