Michigan State Football is preparing for a huge 2016 season. No, the Spartans aren’t exactly considered an overwhelming favorite to finish the season as the Big Ten champs or even a College Football Playoff participant, but they’re back with the expectations they had prior to the 2013 season.
Remember in 2013 when there was no starting quarterback worth mentioning. Andrew Maxwell had struggled in 2012 and Connor Cook, Tyler O’Connor and Damion Terry would be battling it out to take over for the mediocre gunslinger. Cook won the job, led the Spartans to 13 wins and a Rose Bowl victory and that was during a year when no one saw MSU winning more than nine games.
