The Michigan State football team was heavily represented in Chicago this past weekend. From Thursday through Saturday, the NFL Draft saw four Spartans chosen while Sunday witnessed 2016 QB commit Messiah deWeaver take home MVP honors at the Chicago Elite 11 event.
Michigan State athletics have been prominent in the news lately for nothing but positive reasons and the draft was the grandaddy of them all.
Taken in the first round with the No. 11 pick, cornerback Trae Waynes became the second player in as many seasons to be drafted on the first day out of Michigan State, following Darqueze Dennard from last year.
