It’s been one of those years for Mark Dantonio and Michigan State. The head coach expected a 10-plus win season and a potential Big Ten title, but instead his 19 returning starters brought him a 7-5 regular season with a Redbox Bowl berth against Oregon.
Disappointing doesn’t even begin to describe the season, but injuries, lack of consistency on offense and just not being able to find those inches have cost the Spartans.
With even an average offense, this team could be 10-2 or 11-1, talking about a Big Ten title and New Year’s Six bowl, but that’s how fickle college football is.
