In honor of late Michigan State Spartans football player Mylan Hicks, MSU has established the Mylan Hicks Memorial Football Scholarship Endowment.
Hicks, a 2014 graduate, was tragically killed early Sunday in a nightclub shooting in Calgary, where he had been playing for the CFL’s Calgary Stampeders. The team will wear black shoes and socks in his honor Saturday against Indiana.
The endowment is being established at the request of family and friends, per the athletic department’s official website:
“Mylan was the kind of guy who always had a gleam in his eye and he always brought something good out in you as a person,” said MSU head football coach Mark Dantonio.
