EAST LANSING -- For the second time in four months, Michigan State has set up a scholarship fund to honor a former player.
Michigan State has established the Mylan Hicks Memorial Football Scholarship Endowment, the school announced on Friday.
The fund honors the former Michigan State linebacker who died on Sunday in a nightclub shooting in Calgary, and was established at the request and support of his family and friends.
Former Spartan Mylan Hicks was 'like a big brother'
Hicks was killed at age 23 early Sunday morning in Calgary.
