As expected, Michigan State is no longer the No. 1-ranked team in the country.
The Spartans (14-1), who dropped their first game of the season last week in their Big Ten opener at Iowa, slipped to No. 5 in this week’s Associated Press Top 25.
Kansas (12-1) is the new No. 1, followed by Oklahoma. The Big 12 rivals meet Monday night. Michigan State, which is without star Denzel Valentine because of knee surgery, held the No. 1 spot for four weeks.
Kansas received 44 first-place votes from the 65-member national media panel while Oklahoma (12-0) got the other 21.
