COLLEGE PARK, Md. - A strong running game and dominant defense.
That's the blueprint coach Mark Dantonio has used to spearhead success at Michigan State and it worked again with a 24-3 win at Maryland on Saturday.
The Spartans (6-3, 4-2 Big Ten) limited the Terrapins (5-4, 3-3) to just 100 yards of total offense while rushing for a season-high 269 yards in the victory at Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium.
With its sixth win of the season, Michigan State becomes bowl eligible and will reach the postseason for the 11th time in Dantonio's 12 seasons.
