An early bye week gave Michigan State a chance to regroup from a loss and get key players healthy.
It was also an opportunity for coaches to hit the road recruiting as the Spartans attempt to solidify and build on their 2019 class.
Following a loss at Arizona State on Sept. 8, Michigan State was off last week and coach Mark Dantonio's staff was busy.
"We had guys pretty much all around the Midwest," Dantonio said Thursday night on his weekly radio show on the Spartan Sports Network. "We had one guy in Florida, one guy in Georgia.
