MINNEAPOLIS – Tom Izzo borrowed from Minnesota native Bob Dylan: Michigan State’s lineup was a changin’ Sunday.
Sophomores Aaron Henry and Marcus Bingham went to the bench, with freshmen Rocket Watts and Malik Hall for the ninth-ranked Spartans for two reasons – to get more consistency and try and put the slow starts behind them.
It worked.
MSU raced out to a double-digit lead a little more than 13 minutes into the game en route to a 70-52 victory over Minnesota on Sunday afternoon at Williams Arena.
That snapped a two-game road losing streak for the Spartans (15-5, 7-2) and put them back into a first-place tie with Illinois atop the Big Ten standings.
