COLUMBUS, Ohio – As Julius Marble absorbed a hard foul and fell to the floor, Michigan State basketball’s three captains — Aaron Henry, Joshua Langford and Foster Loyer —rushed to help him up.
The sophomore made his free throws, then, on the ensuing inbounds, Henry poked the ball away from C.J. Walker and quickly laid it up. Down 20 five minutes earlier, the Spartans had slashed it to a nine-point game and appeared ready to battle No. 15 Ohio State down the stretch.
Not even 20 seconds later, Henry erased that momentum. His foul on Walker — a near-perfect free-throw shooter — near midcourt got Tom Izzo off the bench and barking at his junior leader.
