Michigan State basketball's Miles Bridges wins first Big Ten Player of the Week award

Michigan State’s Miles Bridges earned his first Big Ten Player of the Week honor Tuesday.

The 6-foot-7 sophomore forward averaged 25 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists in two wins last week for the second-ranked Spartans. Bridges tied a career high with 33 points in MSU’s 107-62 victory over Houston Baptist on Dec. 18, then added 17 points and nine rebounds in a 102-60 win over Long Beach State on Thursday.

Bridges won five Freshman of the Week honors last season. Fellow sophomore Nick Ward was the Spartans’ last Player of the Week honoree on Feb.
