EAST LANSING — Cassius Winston took the microphone and headed to midcourt.
A previously raucous crowd got silent. TV cameras lined up in front of him. Tom Izzo pointed at his All-American point guard as he walked.
“Good luck,” the Michigan State coach told Winston, who was about to speak publicly Monday night for the first time since the death of his brother, Zachary.
Before he could even say a word, the fans and students remaining in Breslin Center rose to their feet.
