EAST LANSING — Michigan State basketball fell behind by double digits Saturday to Illinois in the first half and it looked dire in the second half.
Then Tyson Walker went scorched earth, scoring 24 points on 9-for-10 shooting to bring the Spartans within a basket. But Trent Frazier drained a huge 3 with 25 seconds left for Illinois to finish MSU.
Kofi Cockburn had 27 points and nine rebounds and Jacob Grandison hit six 3-pointers as part of a season-high 24 points as the No. 12 Illini knocked off the No. 19 Spartans, 79-74 at Breslin Center.
