Cassius Winston wrapped up the Big Ten Player of the Year award a few weeks ago — at least it seemed that way — and it was officially announced on Monday but he wasn’t the only Michigan State basketball player to hoist some new hardware.
The Big Ten championship trophy is enough for most teams, but the Spartans have both the conference player of the year as well as the Sixth Man of the Year as Xavier Tillman took home the latter award.
Is this a surprise? Somewhat, but not necessarily if you watched him player over the last couple of months as he’s probably been the most improved player on the team and a future star for the Spartans.
