EAST LANSING — No. 9 Michigan State will be without Kyle Ahrens for Tuesday night’s game against Nebraska.
The junior forward reinjured his back during Saturday’s 63-62 loss at Indiana and did not play the final 11:42. Ahrens initially injured his back Dec. 3 against Iowa and has missed three games since, including the Spartans’ 70-64 win over the Cornhuskers on Jan. 17 in Lincoln, Nebraska.
“We haven’t even had him shoot a shot,” MSU coach Tom Izzo said on his pregame radio show. "We thought if he took three, four days off and give it a chance to simmer down that maybe we’ll have him later on down the stretch.
