After a tough stretch of games to start the season, Michigan State needed a vacation. Well, Tom Izzo and his Spartans got one to Hawaii, but they won’t be resting for long as the Maui Invitational awaits on Monday evening.
Virginia Tech is the first opponent for the Spartans and even though the Hokies are 5-0, they have been lightly tested with their best win coming at Clemson.
For the Spartans, they’re currently 3-1 with a loss against Kentucky to open the year and then a win at Seton Hall the next week. The No. 3 team in the country will once again be tested, but this time against an ACC foe who has been red-hot from long-range this season, making 42 percent of its threes.
