Everyone’s focus seemed to be on Karime Mane and the finalization of the 2020 recruiting class but Pierre Brooks’ sudden commitment has caught everyone’s attention — and for good reason.
The four-star shooting guard from Detroit is the state’s No. 2 prospect, according to 247Sports, and a top-100 recruit in the country in the 2021 class. He has become the Spartans’ first pledge in 2021 and he could set off a domino effect, especially if kids are looking to commit before their spot is taken in what could be a 2-3 man class.
Brooks’ commitment is a big one for Tom Izzo and it’ll fill a need as Josh Langford will be gone and Aaron Henry will be a senior, assuming he returns.
