The 2019-20 Michigan State basketball season ended unexpectedly and without warning but it’s time to look ahead to 2020-21.
Unexpected is the perfect word to use when talking about the abrupt end to the 2019-20 college basketball season. Heck, sports in general were almost simultaneously cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Because of this cancellation, the NCAA Tournament ceased to exist in 2020 and all those teams that looked like national title contenders had their hopes gutted.
Michigan State was one of those title-contending teams, winning five straight games heading into the Big Ten Tournament and it had five wins over ranked teams in the final seven games.
