EAST LANSING — For the second straight season, Tom Izzo finds himself trying to remake Michigan State’s basketball team before the New Year.
The Spartans had to do it twice last year, first when Joshua Langford got hurt and then when Nick Ward went down. They went on to the Final Four.
This time, with both Langford and Rocket Watts out and All-American Cassius Winston drawing more and more attention, Izzo and No. 18 MSU are at it again after being ranked No. 1 in the preseason polls.
