EAST LANSING — It’s all real from here on out.
Tom Izzo, Cassius Winston and Michigan State basketball will take their first-ever preseason No. 1 ranking into action Tuesday with a test as tough as any against No. 2 Kentucky at Madison Square Garden in the Champions Classic.
It is the second time in Division I history the top two teams face each other to begin the season.
