It’s been quite the past week for Tom Izzo and Michigan State basketball recruiting.
First, the Spartans missed on Terry Armstrong who didn’t list the green and white in his list of top schools. Then, they also missed on Josiah James, a five-star point guard who surprisingly committed to Tennessee over Michigan State and Clemson.
Shortly after, the Spartans got their first 2019 pledge in four-star guard Rocket Watts who recently transferred from Old Redford (Mich.) Academy in Detroit to Spire Academy down in Indiana. The move was surprising and no one knew whether it helped or hurt the Spartans’ chances.
