EAST LANSING — Michigan State is heading to Detroit.
The fifth-ranked Spartans received a No. 3 seed in the Midwest Region during the NCAA tournament selection show Sunday. MSU will face 14-seed Bucknell in the first round Friday at Little Caesars Arena.
No. 6 seed TCU will play the winner of No. 11 Arizona State vs. Syracuse. Duke is the Midwest region's No. 2 seed, with Kansas the top seed.
It is the 21st straight year the Spartans (29-4) have made the NCAA field under coach Tom Izzo. That ranks as the fifth-longest active streak among Division I schools.
