LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Did anyone think the ACC/Big Ten Challenge was going to be easy?
It certainly wasn't Tuesday night for ninth-ranked Michigan State, which was handed adversity, a raucous crowd and its first defeat in the past six games, losing 82-78 in overtime at Louisville's KFC Yum Center.
The Spartans (5-2) trailed the Cardinals (4-2) for most of the game but fought their way through a tense final few minutes of regulation and had a chance to win. But Kenny Goins missed the front end of a 1-and-1 with the score tied in the final seconds, leading to overtime.
