Back in 1979, Magic Johnson and Jud Heathcote began the resurrection of the Michigan State basketball program. They helped deliver the first national title in school history before Magic went on to play for the Lakers and Heathcote retired about a decade and a half later.

Since then, Tom Izzo has taken over and he’s really brought Spartan basketball to new heights. In fact, Michigan State has made 20 straight NCAA Tournament appearances and seven Final Fours under the Hall of Fame head coach.
