EAST LANSING — Lansing State Journal columnist Graham Couch gives three takeaways from Michigan State basketball's loss to Wisconsin on Christmas:
1. This loss was telling of exactly who the Spartans are right now
Friday afternoon's 85-76 loss to Wisconsin was the most revealing game of Michigan State’s basketball season to date. Because it wasn’t an uncharacteristically bad showing. Quite the contrary. It was a perfect representation of who the Spartans are right now.
They’re absolutely as physically gifted as the Badgers. More so at many positions. But it doesn't show. MSU isn’t yet a strong enough collective to beat a seasoned and savvy club like Wisconsin.
