Coach Tom Izzo after No. 9 MSU’s 70-52 win at Minnesota, says his players are "devastated" by the death of Kobe Bryant, Jan. 26, 2020. Detroit Free Press
MINNEAPOLIS – Tom Izzo hinted at changes to Michigan State basketball’s lineup and rotation after Thursday’s loss at Indiana.
He responded Sunday by sending sophomores Aaron Henry and Marcus Bingham to the bench, with freshmen Rocket Watts and Malik Hall starting together Sunday at Minnesota for the ninth-ranked Spartans.
It took a little bit, but the consistency Izzo sought began to coalesce and grow. MSU raced out to a double-digit lead a little more than 13 minutes into the game and remained in control throughout its 70-52 victory over Minnesota at Williams Arena.
