With Mark “Rocket” Watts’ commitment to Michigan State, the first piece of coach Tom Izzo’s 2019 recruiting class is set. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound guard announced Sept. 22 he would soon be wearing the green and white.
Craig Covington, Watts’ coach at Old Redford Academy for three years before Watts transferred to SPIRE Academy outside of Cleveland, said the relationships he has developed with Michigan State played a major factor in the decision.
