There’s a new No. 1 recruit in college basketball’s 2019 class and it’s not Vernon Carey Jr. While Michigan State is aiming to land Carey Jr., arguably the top big man recruit in the country, the Spartans could look to add five-star shooting guard Anthony Edwards who just reclassified from 2020 and took over the top spot.
It may not be a name Spartan fans are familiar with because the 2019 class is still far from over, but Edwards, an Atlanta, Ga., prospect, made the switch to 2019, shaking up the entire outlook of the cycle — especially for Michigan State.
