The NBA career of Matt Costello has been a relatively quiet one, but when he got to Michigan State as a freshman, no one expected him to make it to the league.
Why? He was too much of a tweener and didn’t have a jump shot that NBA teams look for. He finished his career, though, as an excellent rebounder and finisher in the paint. He brought the same intensity night after night and became a fan favorite in East Lansing.
Costello ended up signing a day as an undrafted free agent with the Hawks before getting a run as a two-way player with the Spurs.
