Michigan State Basketball: Javon Bess transferring out

It’s not extremely rare to see kids transfer from the Michigan State Basketball program at the end of the year following meetings with Tom Izzo, but two in one day is different. Jason Bess followed Marvin Clark’s footsteps on Monday and told Izzo he would be transferring.

Bess had a tough couple of season in East Lansing. He played sparingly as a freshman due to a season-long injury and then started his sophomore year as a candidate to be the starter at the four position and then saw his role diminish into basically nothing.

The sophomore forward from Columbus, Ohio, was supposed to have a breakout season as a sophomore, but averaged just 11.
