Michigan State did it. Not only did it beat Duke, but it advanced to its first Final Four since 2014-15. While that may not seem like a long time, Tom Izzo has set the standard for this program to make it on a regular basis and a three-year drought is thought to be rare for him.
The Spartans were able to overcome the biggest obstacle that has faced them over the years in Duke, beating the freshman-laden Blue Devils by one to advance to the Final Four.
Before that, it was a 17-point win over LSU that got them to the Elite Eight and a 20-point victory over Minnesota advanced the Spartans to the Sweet 16.
