EAST LANSING — Michigan State basketball made sure this wasn’t Kansas anymore.
Joshua Langford, Nick Ward and Cassius Winston helped the No. 10 Spartans jump out to a big lead early and maintain that momentum throughout Sunday night’s 106-82 victory over Florida Gulf Coast at Breslin Center.
The three juniors, who were primary culprits in a slow start in Tuesday’s 92-87 loss to the No. 1 Jayhawks, provided big nights for the Spartans (1-1).
Ward scored 25 points with 10 rebounds, and Langford had 18 points and 10 boards. Winston finished with 14 points and eight assists as MSU built as big as a 27-point lead and coasted past the Eagles (1-2).
