* Texas upset No. 7 North Carolina, 92-89, in the first Las Vegas Invitational semifinal game to advance to the final against Michigan State, which beat UCLA in the other semifinal. Senior guard Kerwin Roach II recorded a career-high 32 points in the win, to go along with seven assists, six rebounds and four steals.
