GREENSVILLE, S.C. — Michigan State basketball shook off a long drought in the second half and found some offense just in time.
A 16-3 run in the latter stages of the second half helped the No. 7 seed Spartans beat No. 10 seed Davidson, 74-73, in the first round of the NCAA tournament on Friday.
MSU will Duke, the No. 2 seed in the West Region, on Sunday, for one last matchup between Tom Izzo and Mike Krzyzewski, who is retiring after this season. Izzo is 2-4 all-time in the NCAA tournament against Coach K.
