What a roller-coaster of a season it’s been for Michigan State. The Spartans began the season as the No. 1 ranked team but got news that Josh Langford would miss the year with a lingering injury and Joey Hauser was denied immediate eligibility by the NCAA.
Michigan State would lose to Kentucky in the Champions Classic, dropping from No. 1 right away. And then they went to the Maui Invitational and lost to Virginia Tech, missing an opportunity to face Kansas or Dayton in the title game. Shortly after, the Spartans returned home for a big game against Duke and fell at the Breslin Center in blowout fashion.
