Early on, it looked like No. 2 Michigan State would run away with a victory, taking a 10-point lead into halftime, but the No. 13 Purdue Boilermakers stormed back in the second half of play, making the game just as interesting as the first matchup, if not more.
The Big Ten Championship Game went down to the wire even though the Spartans held a 46-33 lead at one point in the second half. Purdue’s shooting from long range was much improved and the big men of the Boilermakers were forcing the Spartans to play overly aggressive in the post.
