Rumors were flying on Thursday afternoon as Michigan State basketball assistant Dane Fife was reportedly close to a deal with Duquesne to take over as head coach. That loss would have been huge for Tom Izzo, but he would have supported Fife’s decision.

However, it seems as if Fife has decided to stay with the Spartans — for now. According to Jeff Goodman of ESPN, Fife has decided to turn down the Duquesne job and remain with Michigan State.
