November yielded some mixed results for Michigan State as it opened the season with a tough loss in the Champions Classic (thanks, Tyrese Maxey) followed by a huge road win against Seton Hall and a red-hot Myles Powell.
A top-five loss and a top-15 win on the road can’t technically be considered a disappointing start, right? Well, when you lose to a Virginia Tech team that lost just about everyone, including a head coach, from a season ago in the opening round of the Maui Invitational, you draw a ton of negative attention. The Hokies were picked to finish 14th in the ACC.
